Better Pictures and a New Sponsor

I was contacted by YesComUSA.com about doing a sponsored post.  I could choose anything on their site and I chose something to make my blog a bit better!

2013-10-30 030

I almost exclusively take my photos outside on a sunny day, sometimes that is virtually impossible so I end up waiting for daylight or sunny skies. That slows down my blogging and posting.

2013-10-30 008

So when I was contacted by YesComUSA I jumped on the chance to get a nice photo booth/cube with accessories.  I got four background colors, a pop up tent with a carrying bag, two lights (even with three bulbs) on tripods, two camera tripods (one small traditional and one a bendy one).

2013-10-30 010

It all fit nicely in a storage bag and was easy to set up and put away.

2013-10-30 020

I started taking pics of any thing I could get my hands on…started with the pup Milo.

2013-10-30 022

I love how the light is soft.

2013-10-30 021

He didn’t mind too much as long as the treats kept coming!

2013-10-30 024

The cube is very light weight and easy to use.

2013-11-10 017

I haven’t used the colored backgrounds yet, but have big plans for Christmas pictures!

2013-11-10 016

Look how tiny the camera tripod is…very handy to have.  I think I will be using this photo kit a lot!

2013-10-30 028

I photographed this dark yarn and even though the color is pretty dark, the wrapped yarn showed up very well.

The 32" Pop Up Daylight Soft Light Photo Studio Tent Kit was provided to me for review.  The opinions are my own.

Some favorite quotes and playing with Picmonkey

Good intentions

Picmonkey is a great photo editing site…you can add all sorts of textures, text, colors, special effects to any picture you upload.

I crave a love

Google images has a lot of paint chip type files and I have used a few of them for backgrounds for quotes that I like.

Mistakes

So, you can resize a square of color and “write” any quote with any font…so easy and fun!

Yellow (1)

Most of picmonkey is free but there is a plan you can pay yearly for which allows you to use more fonts and different effects.

Purple words

A lot of fun to play around with, that’s for sure!  You can go to my Pinterest Speaking Words of Wisdom board to see more of my favorite quotes!

Randomness or can you believe it’s June already?

IMG_8756

I love spring with all the baby animals and getting to see the animals in the fields up close…

IMG_8761

and the spring storms that bring rainbows…I think I have seen 3 double rainbows this spring already…

IMG_8774

This rainbow seemed to be arising from my woods on each side.

IMG_8779

I kept Bob and Joy for my brother last weekend and they don’t like to hang out with Bella the Great Dane and my pug Milo. So this is what most of last weekend looked like.  Bella is the neighbor dog who comes to play with Milo almost every day.

IMG_8544

They didn’t mind staring at each other through the door though!

IMG_8554

Two of my great nieces…Elena in the cowboy hat and Audrey getting hugged.  True to young sister hood, the minute this picture was snapped Elena pushed Audrey away from her!  Silly girls!

IMG_8606

This was a magnificently beautiful sky at my brothers house one afternoon…their house is atop a hill and you can see for miles it seems from there.

IMG_8783

These yellow iris were in a pot that I tossed into a pile of abandoned flowers at the end of the summer last year.  They started leafing out this spring so I divided them and stuck them back into the water garden and now they are blooming like crazy.  One group of them I planted in the dirt.  They are also blooming!

IMG_8787

My mom came and stayed this last week, I am taking her home this weekend.  I love having her visit, here Milo and Mom are coming back to get the mail.

IMG_8573

I think this picture looks funny, looks like Stan is pointing right to Mom’s face.

IMG_8582

We walked the Katy Trail near Rocheport and saw all sorts of reptilian wildlife…this snake crossed our path and we allowed him plenty of room…

IMG_8583

and this baby snapping turtle was so feisty, we picked him up to move him to the other side of the trail (in the direction he was initially headed) and he got all wiggly and opened his mouth!  He didn’t get hold of anything to bite, because we caught on quick!

IMG_8580

The woods are so peaceful and pretty!

IMG_8585

Stan and I have been doing a lot of walking along nature trails and really enjoy the great outdoors!  Mom and I went to Kansas City this past week during her visit and did some shopping at City Market there.

IMG_8680

Hope your week goes well…I am going to start building an ark if the rain doesn’t stop here!  I think we have caught up now on rainfall!!

A great vacation…

I have been in Colorado visiting this little guy and his mama Jess and my niece Kate…I came home to no internet service and have been working on that since Saturday.  Just got it restored today!

IMG_6527

Is he cute or what??  We did a lot of crafting and shopping, but the favorite part for me was hanging around with family.

IMG_6531

Jess is such a good mama!

IMG_6535

I got in late (or early depending how you look at it) because the Denver airport was closed.  My first flight was cancelled and I was on three other flights before the Denver airport reopened. So my first morning there I had only slept 4 hours, so Brady and I took a nap together.

IMG_6571

We made a laid back trip to Lowes to get some spray paint for a project that Jess wanted me to help her with.

IMG_6645

Brady is pretty much a “go with the flow” kid!  He is really sweet!

IMG_6801

One night Jess and Kate were cooking dinner…Brady had just eaten so I got him out of the highchair and found this!  He had poo under his arm and behind his knee!  Very talented I tell you!

IMG_6655

So he had to have a bath right there in the kitchen sink.

IMG_6625

Throughout the detox process he was just as happy as a clam!

IMG_6653

Jess and I got pedicures…my foot is on the right and it is a Muppet color, Gonzo something or something Gonzo!

IMG_6661

Brady was fascinated with the flashlight.

IMG_6833

Maggie rode along with us to see Kate and her cat Brutus!

IMG_6845

Brutus is not so excited about being on a leash!  Nothing like taking a leashed cat on a walk or a crawl as it was!

IMG_6855

Brady started eating puffs while I was there…he wasn’t so excited about them at first.

IMG_6856

He was asking to be picked up…the puffs were trying to get him!

IMG_6865

Such a happy baby!

IMG_6668

Brady is especially cute when he wakes up from a nap…

IMG_6674

Jess loves the snuggle time!

IMG_6681

I set Brady in the sink thinking he would be safe there while I was finishing my “beauty routine”…I had turned the faucets off tightly thinking he wouldn’t be able to turn the water on.  Wrong!  He gasped loud and I looked down and he had the cold water streaming onto his tummy and into his diaper.

IMG_6686

The view from outside my bedroom!  I just love the mountains…just couldn’t get enough of them!

IMG_6723

I asked Jess to take some new pics for me for the blog. Love them and thanks so much Jess!

IMG_6712

We ate good food…avocado chicken salad in pita and fresh cucumbers. Scrumptious!!

IMG_6806

Brady also got his first tooth while I was there (bottom right in case you can’t see it!).  We had to snap a pic of it, much to Brady’s chagrin!  The next day it was much taller…he had been a bit fussy and not acting himself for a few days before, so we knew something was up!

Anyway, thanks to Jess for her great hospitality!  I love you guys so much and can’t wait to see you again!
