Organizing Washi Tape

I found this cup/mug holder at Salvation Army ($1) and since I already use one of these hold my bracelets, I grabbed this one.  I was going to use it for bracelets when I was looking through my washi tape which was just stored jumbled up in a drawer.

So I grabbed some soft yellow spray paint and fixed that jumbled up in a drawer problem!

Now I can see the colors/designs I have and find what I need fast.  It’s not rocket science, but sure makes things easier.

Washi Tape Decorated Gift Bag

100_7827

I love me some polka dots!  And I love me some washi tape! And I love free gift wrapping supplies!

If you follow me on instagram you may remember seeing this pic of my loot from the community trash bin (let’s not call it a dumpster, OK?).

I used three different washi tapes, a solid red, a grey polka dot and red with two lines of polka dots. I used the plain white paper handled bags.

And just made a total of four stripes around the bag with the tape.  It repositions easily so I just kept straightening the tape until I was pleased with it.

It only took 15 minutes to make.  I added some red and white netting for a “bow” and it was done!  Hope she likes it!

Washi Decorated Gift Bag

Procrastination is my middle name.  I can assure you I have tons of stuff just sitting around waiting for me to make it or clean it or something similar.

I had known for three weeks that a coworker had a baby shower at work this past week.   But I totally blew it off and forgot to even make one thing for her.  I usually would make some flannel blankets and burp cloths and such, but just never got around to it.  photo (22)
So I went to the pharmacy in the hospital and filled one of their bags with several kinds of diaper rash medicine, diaper wipes, baby acetaminophen and several bottles of lotion and baby wash.  It was quite a bit.

I realized though I had no way to wrap it other than in the bag the pharmacy gave me.  I went to the hospital gift shop and found a royal blue gift bag in the right size.  Uggggly!  I was resigned to have an ugly gift!

When I got back to the office, I opened my top drawer and remembered and saw the two rolls of washi tape I had there.  So I made several passes around that bag at the top (it was easy because it had horizontal stripes around it) with the tape and then also decorated the envelope with the tape too!  I even cut out cute little hearts to put on the envelope!
