Big girl dress to little girl dress

Cute huh?

This project started when I saw this dress at the SA store for $2.  I knew could make a cute little girl dress from it like I did here.  I found a $1 short sleeved white top at WalMart…

I cut the top off about 1.5 inches below the armpit…

and cut off the dress above one of the ruffles so there was room for a seam.

Then I turned the top so the right sides were together, and stretched the dress to fit the top.  I used my serger but you could use a regular machine as long as you used a stretch stitch.  That’s all there is to it!  The hardest part is finding the ruffle dress or top to make a little dress from.  The ruffle fabric is so expensive!  I can’t wait to see my niece in the dress!
