Baby Onesie Dress and Matching Headband

I saw a tutorial on Prudent Baby for making a dress from a onesie.  I had an extra onesie left over from a Christmas gift for my great niece Miss Audrey Lou.  So of course, I had to try it.  I have this cute bumble bee fabric and thought  it would be perfect.
And since accessories are everything, I decided to add a matching headband.  After I finished the headband, I thought it would be cute to put a similar flower on the shoulder of the onesie.  Now, I do have to say that making the dress was a bit harder than I thought it would be.
I followed the directions, attached the skirt, and luckily before I sewed the seam I realized it was pinned so the skirt would be wrong side out. I unpinned and repinned and then realized the only skirt seam was in the middle of the front of the dress. So I unpinned and repinned and fixed it.Or so I thought. Sooooo, the only seam on the skirt is right in the middle of the front of the dress!
But as you can see Audrey doesn't mind at all and I am telling myself that it really isn't too noticeable.
The tutorial is great and making the dress was not hard.
I think it took Audrey's mom Liz and I longer to get these "action" shots of Audrey than it did for me to make the dress!
It's a great idea because it has the diaper cover built in!
This kiddo can't hold still for even a minute!
I couldn't decide which type of headband to use, but eventually went with the wider elastic lacy one...
Isn't she the cutest baby model ever???
While we were taking these pictures, Audrey's big sis Laney had a major meltdown because I didn't make her a dress like Audrey's.  We tried to explain this dress was only for babies, but Laney continued to howl...until I reminded her that I had brought her a "princess dress" (a fancy pink and black party dress from Goodwill) a few months ago and didn't give Audrey a princess dress.  Then she was fine, although she did need to sit on my lap for a while and get lots of hugs.

Don't forget to enter one or all of my five giveaways...winners will be announced February 1st!

Hoo Are You??

NightOwlCrafting

1. Do you wear glasses or contacts, if so for how long?
I now wear glasses, tried contacts, but never really got along with them!  The first time I wore my contacts was to a Kansas concert in the late 70s...(think smoke, lots of smoke when people used to be allowed to smoke in public!)...I ended up popping one of them out on the floor of the stadium, but luckily I found it!  I only wore them for about two years.

2. What was your favorite board game as a kid?
Never been a big fan of board games, just ask my son...but I do love to play Yahtzee!

3. What is a word that you use all the time?
Dagnabbit!  or Righttttt!
4. What is your favorite day of the week?
Have to say Sunday...usually pretty laid back and calm day, love to read the Sunday paper in the morning and go to church.

5. Did you graduate high school from the town you grew up in?
Nope, I went to 13 different schools before high school but was lucky enough to spend all four years of high school at the same place.  My family moved around a lot!

Check back soon for my 300 follower giveaways...there's gonna be five of them!!

The Ring or My Favorite Christmas Present Ever

Last year for Christmas, I got my best gift ever...
my mom's high school ring.  1952.  The G stands for Galatia, as in Illinois.  I love this ring.
I love that mom gave it to me.  I love the story behind how she came to have it.
She ordered it without telling her parents that she ordered it.  It cost $17 and mom didn't have that money.  Probably her parents didn't really have it either.  Mom didn't tell her parents about the ring until it arrived at the school and it had to be paid for.
She told her mom what she had done...her mom told her to talk to her dad.  Her dad didn't say much, but came back to her in a few days with the money.  My mom loves this ring too, but she gave it to me for Christmas.  Words can't express how special this ring is to me.
Every thing and every one has a story....
