Another Peacock Feather Bag

100_5064

I painted a bag like this one for my June Package Pal…since then I have wanted one myself!  Hate it when that happens.  I was in my sewing room this past weekend and was finishing up some projects and saw this scrap of canvas drop cloth left over from this project.

I made a simple bag, one handle from side to side, it is double thickness and turned out really good!  I made it to go to the Farmers Market, it is a cross body style bag, so it will be perfect for that.

I free hand drew and painted the feathers…I know they don’t look like a classic peacock feather, but I love them!

This is the back, I painted one feather on the back.  I also used a strip of grosgrain ribbon on the strap to hide the seam, so it looks like the strap has no seam at all!

I love it! You are on a roll girl! I can't believe you drew those feathers by hand. I could never do that. Nice job (again)!

I really like this project. I never tempted it because I am a terrible drawer and always end up with bad looking results. But your project might get me back on painting fabrics. Thanks for the photos.
