I was outside photographing some projects for my blog...it was so quiet and calm. No TV, no sounds, no washer/dryer noise. Just quiet.
I found this butterfly on my seedum (I think that is what it is...). I wondered where he had been...how had his wings been damaged, was he just old, how much older he would live to be...
As long as he stayed there, I stood and watched him.
The asters are blooming...
a pretty dianthus in a container on the deck...
a beetle on a yellow petunia. Summer is almost over...the potted plants are looking tired.
I was counting the blooms-to-be on the moonflower vine. I look every late afternoon to see how many blooms I think are going to happen that evening. About 5pm you can usually start seeing some action out there, I swear the buds start moving right in front of your eyes!
The first view, all taken from the same spot on the garden bench on the deck (sorry this is a bit fuzzy).
Two minutes later...I can begin to smell their heavenly scent at this point!
Now more open...
About half way there!
Now more open and the scent is heavy now!
Completely open now!
Total of 13 blooms on the vine now...
All this happened over a period of 10 minutes. That is just so incredible....I never cease to be amazed by this plant!
I promise not to post anything else about the moonflower vine at least through the end of September!! Well, unless I take more pictures and just happen to be watching the flowers opening again!

Those are absolutely gorgeous! Especially that blue butterfly and the flower with the pink in the middle. Oh, to have the peace that must have come from being out there, just you and your camera. Beautiful!
