Call me cheap if you will, but I hate to buy cards to go with gifts…oh, I might buy a wedding card for a really fancy gift, but for everyday gifts, I just don’t like to buy cards. I guess I would rather spend the money on the gift. Sooo….
I have been making gift tags from paint chips…they come in all colors and you can cut them to any shape! I used a large heart craft punch to make these to put on my baby shower gifts. I punched a tiny hole in the hearts and strung them onto blue and white bakers twine.
And then you just tie them on. Very cute, many colors, and thrifty too!
There are lots of different punch shapes you can get, even tag-shaped punches! I have a giant star punch too and it is great too.
I am linking up to these wonderful parties!

What a fabulous idea! I don't think I will ever look at those paint chip cards the same way again!
You've inspired me! Absolutely love this idea. I also dislike paying $4-5 for a card when I'd rather put the money into the gift. Thanks for sharing at Support Blog for Moms.
What a cute idea! I love making things out of paint chips, but hadn't thought of this. Thanks for sharing.
Great idea! This will certainly help reduce my collection of paint chips!
Ps stopping in from the sugar bee link up!

What a cute idea! Great way to recycle!
Brilliant idea, I don't like paying for gift tags either - I really need to look into getting some lovely punches like you have, I never knew such lovely shapes could be had, where do you get yours?
You had me at paint chips! Great idea...
Great tip! Thanks for linking up to Mad Skills Monday!

Such a clever idea! I might have to borrow this idea. Thanks for sharing!
Great idea, I have tons of those laying around!
Great idea!!!
I love paint chip crafts!! I'd never thought to use them as tags. Guess I'm making a trip to Lowe's soon. :)
Thanks for sharing with Crafty Friday.
I'm the same way, Ellen -- just not much of a card person. Part of it is environmental, but a lot of it is cost. It's staggering how much cards cost these days -- $4-6 for something that in most cases gets thrown away.
I LOVE your idea for the paint-chip gift tags. They're sweet, elegant, and economical.
Thank you so much for linking up to last week's "A Little Birdie Told Me...". My apologies for the belated vist -- with July 4 falling on a Monday, it threw my whole schedule off, and I'm just now making the rounds to visit the party-goers from that week. Best, Jenn
