Sorry, this is going to be a long post with lots of pictures! I love my pictures. This is the 7th annual MDA Fundraiser hosted by my family in Galatia, IL. We have raised over a quarter million dollars since the beginning to raise money for research and care for folks with muscular dystrophies.
These two guys are the reason my family does this every year…Beau on the left and Gabe on the right! They both have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. We hope and pray for a cure to help these guys! We have a live auction, a silent auction and a team walk/ride to raise money.
We had rain this year, lots of it, so we set up differently and everything was fine, just a bit muddy, but the sun did try to come out several times. You couldn’t keep the people away, they came out as usual!
My SIL Chasidy…
and my mom…
The walk part getting ready to happen…lots of walkers/riders and the local village fire truck to lead them off. That’s the cool thing about this event is how much the little village/town puts into the mix!
The handmade pumpkin basket….
Pint jar full of felted wool acorns…made by me!
Kid fun basket…
Snuggly baby blanket with handmade taggie! I made this from a soft chenille and it turned out really cute!
Miss Laney has the best seat in the house!
Fun fall basket!
My aunt Marge made this bandana quilt and it went really high!
I snagged this basket…see the wool ball garland! Love it!
My niece made this lovely birds nest necklace.
I wanted these soooo bad, but I was outbid. My sis Sarah made them, just little owl zip pouches.
I also scored this Sak purse…love it!
A Thirty One basket…it was very popular!
And who doesn’t love girl scout cookies?
One of the classes at the school made this crayon canvas piece of art. I had seen these on blogs, but never saw one in person. It looked really cool!
My sister Jenny, Beau and Gabe’s momma! And that is another great thing about this fundraiser…I get to see all sorts of family!
Everything in this basket was made from duct tape—those flowers were really creative!
The teeter totters were very popular with the young ones…
Look mom, only one hand! Audrey is fearless!
And cute little great nieces and nephew running around made it all fun too!
