This is my first Christmas/winter type craft post this year! I have been admiring the sparkly pinecones by Miss Mustard Seed and thought I would give it a try. I found these pine cones for $1 each on this great craft supply store, used Mod Podge for the glue and bought cheap white glitter at Michaels (I think I paid less than $2 after using a coupon).
I swiped on the Mod Podge with a foam brush and wasn’t careful about how much or where it went on each branch leaf thingy of the pinecones.
Holding it over a paper plate I started sprinkling the glitter.
And just kept going until I was happy with the way it looked.
I dried them outside in the sun all day…we had such a warm pretty day for November.
And that’s it! So easy…I can’t wait to try this on smaller pinecones too!
Now if you will excuse me, I am going to vacuum 25# of glitter off my living room floor!

Very pretty. I love pine cones at Christmas. These are nice because they are dressed up but are still natural beauties!
They look great Ellen! I collected a bag of pinecones when we went camping a couple of weeks ago with something like this in mind to do with my girls in the coming weeks! Hope mine turn out as nice as yours!!

WOW! These are so pretty, I love the sparkle mixed with the rustic pinecone. I know I've seen it done before, but the large bits of glitter look so much better than the small dust... looks more like ice crystals or snow.
As much as my fiance will probably grumble about more shiny things in the house (hmm... a little too enthusiastic about glittery things!).. I am going to have to do this!
These are so simple and basic but so blingy and beautiful. I love decorating with pine cones.
