I discovered ruffle yarn or ladder yarn (that’s what I have heard it called). Well, maybe I didn’t actually discover it, but I have discovered that I love to use it. There are a lots of different kinds out there…like this…
and this…
Here are some close up examples…
Ok, so I found some ruffle yarn at Hobby Lobby (and it goes without saying that I used my 40% off coupon) for $4 and knitted my first scarf in an evening watching TV. Here’s what it looks like…
This is the yarn label…if you notice there are nice directions that show you how to use the yarn. Of course when I started my knitting, I didn’t see those directions and ended up looking up the “how to” on YouTube.
Since making that first scarf, I have made three more. One beautiful rose and pale green scarf for my mom for Christmas and two more for me. This red ombre is a fun color.
But this one is my favorite…it reminds me of peacock feathers.
This yarn was $14 at a local yarn shop. Such beautiful colors!
The interesting thing about this yarn is that you use the loops of the yarn to cast on and knit with.
I am linking to these great parties…
This looks so soft, so stylistic and versatile. I was wondering how it's knitted. Now I know with your last picture. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIn this season I have made three ruffle scarfs: one for my mum, for my mum-in-law and for me. I love its exotic looking :)
