Ok, I saw this on Pinterest and knew I had to give it a try!
Winter skin is upon us, so I wanted to see how this cream rates compared to the expensive brands. It only has three ingredients—Baby lotion (Johnsons for me!), vitamin E cream, and Vaseline.
I used the tutorial in the link above, the recipe made 4 1/2 cups of cream (total cost $11), and it smells wonderful (but then I love Johnson’s baby lotion!). I did have trouble finding the vitamin E cream, so I used a vitamin E ointment. I stored it in some plastic freezer containers which I had on hand. This would make a great gift in a nice mason jar with a cute lid too!
It works great and gives a faint scent of baby lotion. I definitely will be making this again!
Linking to these great parties!
I've been making this for several years now, and love it. It has such a delicate scent and feel. Works great too. I buy my Vitamin E cream at Dollar General. I usually get all the ingredients at Dollar Tree or Dollar General and have no more than 4 or 5 dollars in it.

Glad to hear it really works...I always wonder :)
ReplyDeleteI made a batch two months ago and love it! I used cocoa shae baby lotion instead of the regular and I believe it makes a difference.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. You could put these in cute little jars with a ribbon and they'd make great little gifts! I'd love it if you shared at my linky party... www.serendipityandspice.blogspot.com

Saying Hi From Craft-O-Maniac Mondays. What a fabulous idea, I also love the smell of the J&J baby lotion. My skin is very dry particularly in winter so I will have to give it a go! Please stop by and say hi at Cards and Things By Alex http://schnookle.blogspot.com :-)
ReplyDeleteCheers Alex
In the winter this is the ONLY cream that can keep my daughter's excema under control. It is great stuff. I get everything at Dollar General and spend around $4 for the entire batch. The Dollar General brand of baby lotion comes in a couple of scents/colors if you are not a fan of pink baby lotion.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to give this cream a try! Thanks so much for sharing at the Tuesday To Do Party!
