I am making things for the silent auctions for two of my favorite fundraisers...I usually just make two of each themed basket or grouping.
I made these two tote bags from three tea towels (one for each bag body and one for the handles) in coordinating colors.
I wanted to use them for scrapbooking supplies, but they just looked so plain!
So I got busy with my trusty partner, the hot glue gun (I don't think I have any more fingerprints because I keep burning myself with the hot glue!). I decided these bags needed some bling!
So I used fabric scraps to make rosettes...the off white one is made from painters cloth I found at Goodwill (for 25 cents I might add!).
The other scraps were left over from leftover quilt bindings.
I love how the blue flower matches both blues in the tote bag fabric.
And these are the perfect size for toting miscellaneous scrapbook supplies!
I just finished these up at midnight last night!
Man, what a great use for tea towels! And those are some very pretty fabric flowers.
ReplyDeleteI love the flowers, they add just the perfect touch!
ReplyDeleteFlowers as bling and great scrapbook totes. Very nice idea. Love that you made them out of teatowels.
ReplyDeleteI love the flowers! That's what sold me on my last bag, the addition of flowers. :)
ReplyDeleteI like 'em! I wonder how many library books I could fit in there. I'm finding that I need more than one tote for trips to the library these days. Thanks for sharing!
