Makin’ Christmas Cards…or how to cover your living room with glitter!

IMG_4982
I decided to make my own Christmas cards this year…

I used pages from an old tattered hymnal

I taped the hymnal pages onto regular printer paper (Washi tape worked perfectly for that) and printed the pine cone/branch printables I found on a blog this week (for the life of me I can’t figure out where I found them) (I have looked and looked) (It’s driving me crazy if anyone knows which blog had these posted this week, PLEASE let me know.  I think I need to ask the Wizard of Oz for a memory!). UPDATE::  Angie from Knick of Time was nice enough to let me know that it was from her blog just last week that I found these graphics!  How embarrassing, but thanks Angie! (I swear I looked there!)  Where can I find that Wizard?

After trimming the printed pages to fit my cards and I used a glue stick to attach them to the card.

I touched a bit of glitter here and a bit of glitter there on the print…

just enough to highlight the design.

Martha Stewart adhesives are the best, I used a glue stick to attach the music to the card and the gel adhesive to apply the glitter.

My coffee table may never be the same!

But I do love the cards!  Each one is a bit different…

On the inside of the card I glued a piece of music with Merry Christmas printed on it.

in keeping with the music theme.

Loving them!

I also made some Shutterfly collage Christmas cards to put inside these.  I only paid $6.73 for 25 cards and can’t wait to get them.

Aren’t they cool?  I can’t wait to send them out!

I made these stickers with my Xyron to put on the outside of the envelopes.

  9. Very beautiful! I have a love-hate relationship with glitter: love the look, hate the mess. The pine branch on the music was the perfect touch.

  10. They are really beautiful cards Ellen! I've managed to avoid glitter so far this year - as I put it out of the way last year somewhere safe...don't remember where...oops!
