This is a comparison of how a knitted project turns out when you follow the pattern and how a project turns out when you do not follow the pattern! These are both made from the same pattern, I pinned it a while back…
I made two of them for Christmas presents, one for a toddler without the wings and one for a knitter! I always worry when I give a knitted item to a knitter…you have to worry about that dropped stitch in the second row and the fact that maybe you didn’t say, follow the directions!
The one on the left was knitted first, I thought I was following the directions, but actually decreased instead of increasing! Trouble for sure! I managed to fix it up so it was presentable…I do love these flying pigs though!
I do love these tails…and they were so easy to make!
These piggies have a pink rubber ball inside them. Makes it a bit of a challenge to knit around it when you first put it in there, but after a bit it gets easier.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas!
I am linking to these great parties!
by golly that pig did sprout wings

They're so cute. It's so skillful to do knitting like the pig object. You're talented.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHow very cool! I don't have a clue how to knit but these look like they would be difficult!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog. You have so many great projects! Can't wait to see what you're up to in 2012.
ReplyDeleteThey're very cute! I know what you mean about showing a knitted project to a knitter. I'm embarrassed that my afghans sometimes have a dropped stitch, but I'm always too lazy to fix them!
ReplyDeleteHow cute - I love those little piggies!
ReplyDeleteYour pigs are darling... who makes the pattern? I love the wings!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! I always use the term "when pigs fly!" I have to get my mom to make me one since she knits.

These are so cute! I just love pigs! I especially love handmade toys for kids. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThese are DARLING! Love the one with wings!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about giving homemade presents to fellow crafters. I love giving homemade presents to my mother, because she adores everything I give her (thanks mom!) but I could NEVER give anything I sewed to my MIL! I would just die if she noticed an imperfection!
These are so sweet though! I am definitely going to have to try them sometime! Kudos to you!
I just linked my pig sewing project to Funky Junk Interiors, and saw your link just above mine! ;) These are soooooo cute. You've inspired me to make mine fly, too!

ReplyDeleteXoXo,

I made a batch of these during the height of the swine flu epidemic for my nursing school buddies and embroidered H1N1 on the butts...everyone loved them.
ReplyDeleteYours turned out great, what yarn did you use?
Would love it if you stopped by and helped me decide what blanket to make for a friend
