Who knew you could print on fabric with just a regular printer? I saw someone else’s post about this and I raced around getting what I needed to give it a shot!
I bought this frame at an auction (Black and Gold Auctions to be exact!) a month or so ago…I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it, but this weekend I figured it out!
This blue is a mix of all the partial blue paint containers I had in the garage. I cleaned the garage some this weekend, so I was trying to get rid of half empty paint cans.
I have been wanting to make a Live, Laugh, Love picture and thought the round frame would be perfect for that saying. I simply took some left over drop cloth from this project and this project, taped it to a piece of printer paper, and cut off the excess cloth. I opened a word document and figured out what I wanted to print, put my cloth on paper into the printer tray and hit the print button!!
I cannot believe it was that easy! You can see the frame has been glazed and distressed a bit….
I used spray adhesive to attach the printed cloth to the cardboard that I cut to fit the frame, smoothing the fabric onto the cardboard.
Here it is hanging on my wall…more wall reveals later—I have been working on my living room lately.
I love the way the from turned out and I still can’t believe I printed the words right onto the fabric!!
My next project is going to involve this….
I am linking up to these great parties!
Ha! I'm glad there's someone else got as excited as I did when I discovered I could print direct onto fabric!! Isn't it just amazing - and opens up so many possiblities!
