Bandanna Blanket

Another Christmas present that doesn't take a lot of work (unless you are quilting it yourself!), here is the bandanna quilt that I put together for my niece to give to a friend.
All it takes is a dozen bandannas, sewn together to make the top...and then quilt it!
I used a black binding on this one and it looked really good, brought out the black in the designs on the bandannas.
I made one of these last year for my nephew for Christmas for his family to use as a picnic blanket.  It is a family tradition that I started I guess with the "balloon blanket" probably 25 years ago.  I made it from 12 hot air balloon hankies and lined it with a pale yellow sheet.  I used it for picnics, spreading it out on the grass for babies to sit on, to keep warm with in the car.  That blanket helped make a lot of memories!
You can see my feline inspector on the scene here!
So, I hope this blanket makes just as many memories.
My Aunt Marge quilted it for Ruthie and did a beautiful job as usual.
Don't look too closely at those corners!
The quilting is a paisley sort of flower design, very appropriate for the bandannas!
And it's hard to tell in the pictures, but this thread is variegated in primary colors, so the back is just as pretty as the front.
I love to look at the back of quilts...
Frosty looks like of grumpy here.  I think he wants me to leave the quilt outside so he can snuggle on it!
