Finally Done!

These are the befores...all of them found at thrift stores here in Columbia! The wooden lamp was $3, the candle holders were 75 cents each.

And this lovely oval mirror was $6.
I gave them all a healthy shot (or perhaps unhealthy, but I guess that would just be for me!) of black satin spray paint. I swear if my dog wasn't already black I might spray paint her! Just kidding of course! I had to wait for a sunny day so I could do the spray painting...but this weekend the weather cooperated with my plans.
Here is the larger wooden candle holder holding a pumpkin and some felted acorns...I think it looks great! My mom gave me the quilted table runner...on the back there is a Christmas print.

Here is the lamp, with a shade I had in the closet.
Here is the smaller candle holder...and my favorite below! The mirror turned out great! I love the way it looks and am just trying to decide where to put it. I hung it in the living room right now, but I already have three mirrors on that end of the room, so I am thinking I might move it to my bedroom.
Decisions...decisions....

  1. Hi!

Nice redos! I have the same candle holder (the one right above the last picture) and I did the same thing, spray painted it black. I got mine at a thrifty store dirt cheap too and it still had the glass candle holder in it. Love black paint!
Here is the link to my redo on this candle holder:

  5. Isn't it amazing what a can of black spray paint can do? It looks great.

I have to say, I'm bad about seeing potential in things. You can clearly see it. =)

  6. I love your projects. It's amazing what you can do with black spray paint. Black paint makes it all good.

The thing I'm most impressed with though is the table runner. Doing one side Fall fabric and the other side Christmas fabric is genius!

  9. Wow, why can't our thrift stores be so well priced? A wooden candlestick (like the kind you can get a Michaels) is priced at $2-3. And furniture is upwards of $30 just for a lone broken down headboard! I dream of finding the jackpot thrift store near me...
    Your work is fabulous!
