I got in a felting sort of mood today...have to be in a special frame of mind to be able to get all wooly and scratchy! Anyway, I had been cutting out circles from all wool sweaters that I washed in hot water (felting them by doing so). I have been looking for all sorts of neat colored and designed sweaters to make these trees.
I "sewed" the circles together with a thin wire, two layers.
And then I topped each one with a wet felted ball (much like the acorns I made the felted balls for here http://ellenscreativepassage.blogspot.com/2009/09/acorn-makeover.html ). I used some yellow, some red, some white fuzzy roving to make the toppers for the trees.
I think they look sort of Dr. Seuss-ish...

I made the all green one first following the pattern I found online...Ithought it would look more "real" if I just used green.
I don't know what I was thinking, I like the green one a lot, but I LOVE the ones with all the colors!!
Here is the link for a great tutorial for the trees--http://thelongthread.com/?p=1656.
