Handmade Wool Wreath Christmas Ornaments

Here is an easy Christmas craft idea...
Another wool project...sorry about my current obsession, but aren't they cute?
I love these wreaths...the smaller ones are about 4 inches in diameter, the larger ones 5".

First I went through my felted wool sweater collection and cut 1" squares from all sorts of colors. Then I just strung them together with either quilting thread or around 20G wire.....I used 50 squares for the smaller wreath and 60 for the larger one. Then I just tied the wire or thread together. I used a tutorial here from Alpha Mom.
That site has some great ideas!
Aren't they nice?
I am linking to DIY Day at A Soft Place to Land and Twelve Weeks of Christmas at Red Writing...be sure to go by and check out these great sites!

  10. I love these. Even smaller they would be adorable as napkin rings.

I hope that you will come by and see the ornaments I made: pearl encrusted star, crystal and button ball and an anthro inspired tree topper.

  11. Oh my, I wish you'd make me one slightly larger so I could wrap it around my neck and stay cozy.... These are absolutely charming and truth be told I got a little teary cause my mom made a few similar to this when I was a kid. Sadly, she threw them away years ago, and I wish I had a few to treasure now. May yours be treasures for years to come !

    Thanks for linking
